When a law firm tells you they've been around for 150 years, it can make them sound rather stuffy. The reality, however, might surprise you.

We're certainly proud of our long history of good, old-fashioned client care – but there are other, equally important qualities that have made us what we are: the ability to anticipate and adapt to change, keeping abreast of the latest developments, being constantly prepared for the future. That means not only 150 years of experience in the law, but 150 years of experience in successful business as well. In fact, we have been awarded Investors in People and Lexcel (the Law Society Practice Standard) – the first law firm locally to achieve both standards concurrently.

During 2009 the firm was subject to a routine practice standard's visit from the Solicitors Regulation Authority. As part of their findings, the SRA reported as follows: "It was apparent that your firm demonstrates a strong service ethic. The files I reviewed were well generally [sic] organised and managed." Turning to communications with clients the SRA noted "The dominant picture that emerged from the file reviews was that clients are kept well informed of the progress of their cases and telephone calls and letters are responded to promptly."
