Collecting a bad debt is never a pleasant experience.  First, there is the obvious pain of having done work without being paid.  Then, of course, there is the hole in your cash flow.  This can then be made much worse by the amount of time it can take to chase the debt to the door of the court – all without the certainty of getting your money.

Sometimes the cost of legal action can outweigh the value of the debt.  So what can you do?

Well, you can take advantage of our new debt collection rates.  This is how it works.  If the debt is undisputed, we will send a letter on your behalf to the debtor free of charge.  A firmly worded letter from your solicitor shows that you are serious about recovering the money and often results in payment, part payment or negotiation.

If that fails and we need to proceed to the next stage, then we offer a fixed fee service, again for undisputed debts, up to obtaining a judgement.

So long as the debtor has assets, then these fixed fee costs are usually recoverable – so you should get your money plus costs.

In addition, for simple undisputed debt cases, we can despatch a Statutory Demand for £100 excluding VAT, plus service fee.
