Home Information Packs

If you are selling your home, it is compulsory for you to have a Home Information Pack prior to placing the property on the market for sale.

Barr Ellison offers a high quality Home Information Pack supply service, with a discount on your sale fees if you use us to provide your HIP. Currently this is a saving of £230.00 on your legal fees.

Our HIPs are usually completed within 14 days and are prepared by a fee earner who will offer you a personal service and assist with any query you may have about the HIP. They will be available for contact by telephone, email or post and can even be available for a meeting should you require. This fee earner will take responsibility for your case, although there will always be other staff members who can assist.

Barr Ellison HIPs include an official local search which speeds up the transaction further down the line, once received by the buyer’s solicitor. Many HIPs contain personal searches that may not be accepted by lenders, meaning that the search has to be re-done and valuable time is wasted.

Using a qualified legal professional to compile the information contained within your HIP ensures that the HIP will be compliant with the conveyancing process, as it will be put together by someone who understands precisely what legal documents are required for your sale. Combined with this is the protection and reassurance of knowing your HIP has been prepared by a properly regulated firm.

A HIP produced by Barr Ellison will be your property and can be taken with you even if you change estate agent.

So if you are thinking about moving and want to use a HIP provider that offers a local service and has an established reputation, come to us first.
