
Caroline Banwell
Caroline Banwell obtained a law degree from University College London and, after completing the LPC course, qualified as a solicitor in 1997 with a City of London firm. Since qualification Caroline has specialised in employment law and represented a wide range of clients from individual employees and small businesses to multinational companies on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Caroline joined Barr Ellison in April 2009.
Recently Caroline has advised clients on:
- unfair dismissal claims
- the employment law implications of purchasing a pre-pack company being put into administration
- a variety of discrimination claims and potential claims
- negotiating compromise agreements on behalf of employees and employers
- TUPE issues and related claims
- redundancies and business reorganisations
- whistle-blowing claims
- data protection issues
- drafting and relying on post-termination restrictions
- day to day employment law issues affecting employers
Caroline frequently reviews and drafts employment documentation including contracts of employment and service agreements, statements of terms and conditions, disciplinary and grievance procedures and other policies. Caroline represents her clients at tribunal and gives client seminars.
