Michael Denmead

Michael is an experienced business analyst and commercial solicitor whose focus within the team is on the larger, more complex transactions.

Michael’s clients are typically public sector bodies, the medical profession, charities, farmers, landlords and property developers. Recent instructions have included:

• Acting for a major land-owner in relation to a section 106 agreement involving the build out of a proposed eco-town of approximately 5,000 dwellings (along with community centre, police station, fire service, etc.)
• The successful acquisition for a long-standing local authority client of a 5.6 acre sporting facility forming part of the local authority’s wider long-term promotion of sporting activities
• In partnership with a specialist liquidator, the voluntary solvent liquidation of a multi-million property company and incorporation of 5 NewCos to enable operations to be restructured

In addition to the above, Michael has been involved in leading the property team which fulfilled the due diligence in a successful buy-out of property portfolio worth in excess of £100 million.

Michael is a strong project manager helped significantly by his business experience prior to qualifying as a solicitor. With a Masters in Business Administration, Michael has also worked in Brussels for an American industry as part of a powerful lobbying body representing billions of dollars of American investment in Europe. More recently, Michael has worked for a UK-based international management and strategy consultancy in the communications sector, where he had operational and commercial accountability for a team of business analysts.

As well as his legal and business knowledge and experience, Michael has been an elected member of a local District Council, representing a ward with about 5,000 households. He has also written numerous articles and 13 books.
